  • The current flag was designed by a high school student, Robert G. Heft, he was seventeen.
  • Flag Day, which celebrates the anniversary of the Flag Resolution of 1777, was established by the Proclamation of President Woodrow Wilson on May 30th, 1916 after years of local celebrations.

The Flag Craft

This flag can be crafted in one of two ways.  If your looking for a simple craft that you can just pull out and go then the template is for you. 

But if you want to make it from scratch, then keep reading to find the easy-to-follow instructions.

Supplies Needed

How To Make American Flag Craft

Step 1

Back

  • Grab a piece of white paper

Step 2

Stripes

  • Cut out 7 strips of red paper
  • Cut out 6 white strips of paper
  • Glue strips of red and white onto the white paper

Step 3

Stars

  • Cut out a blue rectangle
  • Glue to the white paper with the stripes
  • Use a marker to make the stars on the blue rectangle

Jokes

  • What did one flag do when it lost its voice?         
    • He waved
  • What’s the most Patriotic Tea    
    • Liber-tea
  • What did one firework say to another Firework?
    • My pop is bigger than your pop!
