Sun and Moon Facts

  • Did you know that the sun is the closest star to the earth.
  • Another fact I found was that the sun is the most perfectly round natural object known in the universe, crazy right!
  • The Moon is a dusty ball of rock, that’s roughly a quarter of the size of Earth.
  • It takes 27.3 days for the Moon to travel around the Earth and complete its orbit.  Who wants to travel for almost 28 days then do it all over again?
  • On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong became the first human to step on the moon. He and Aldrin walked around for three hours. They did experiments. They picked up bits of moon dirt and rocks.
